About

Organic food is defined by Wikipedia as:
"[C]rops...grown without the use of conventional pesticides, artificial fertilizers, human waste, or sewage sludge, and...processed without ionizing radiation or food additives"

and

"Animals....reared without the routine use of antibiotics and without the use of growth hormones."

Simply put, organic food is that which was grown and harvested using only natural processes and materials, and which has not been genetically modified or otherwise altered from its purest state.

Organic food is the healthiest kind available for animal (including human) consumption, as well as for the environment. The consumption of organic food also helps the primarily independent farmers who produce it through organic farming. Consequently, most people who choose to consume organic foods do so for health, economic, social, environmental, or general ethical reasons. Those of us who buy organic are keeping our bodies, communities, and consciences cleaner as a result of our consumption habits.

Many mainstream grocery chains across the world are now beginning to carry organic stock, while some niche chains like Whole Foods Market and Trader Joe's are exclusively dedicated to organic foods. In most Western nations, labeling foods as "organic" requires legal certification that the products are free of growth hormones, GMOs, pesticides, and other harmful entities.

This fanlisting celebrates organic foods and provides a way for supporters of organic foods to add their names to a literal list of people who want to have more delicious organic options available for their diets.
