The image in the header is a photograph I took a few years ago at the Shetucket River in North Franklin, Connecticut, a beautiful federally-protected river in the Quiet Corner of the state. Although New England is most commonly associated with colonial villages, quaint town greens, and the Boston skyline, I wanted to showcase the region's simplicity and natural beauty by using a natural, calming image. Please do not use it for any other purposes – thanks!
The leaves in the header image and the leaf found at the footer of each page were made courtesy of
a wonderful font called JI Nature Bats, by Jeri Ingalls. I
had looked for an eternity for a leaves font that I actually liked and which didn't look cartoonish
or jagged, so I thought I should include a note about it here in case other designers are looking
for something similar. It has a relatively limited number of glyphs, but they are well worth the
download.
